Well, summer is almost over and so is my great tomato experiment. My son has checked that plant every day for the past two months or so, with growing excitement. And the grannd payoff? Despite growing full and tall, with lots of fruit, only one little tomato ripened. I guess my balcony just doesn't get enough sun. But that one tomato was one of the most delicious things I've tasted, so sweet! We shared this tiny treat among four people (me, my son, my husband, and granny), making that one little bite all the more precious. Why can't I buy tomatoes like this at the farmer's market?

It might not be the amount of sun; your plant might not have gotten pollinated. You might just be too high up to be on the flight path of pollinators (bees, butterflies, etc.)
Hmmm. I have a lot to learn about gardening.
